CONTINUED TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY PANEL
Price:
$159
The Continued Testosterone Therapy Panel consists of the following tests: 1. Testosterone (Free/Total) 2. Complete Blood Count (CBC) 3. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) 4. Estradiol 5. Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) 6. SHBG Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) Testosterone is a male hormone that helps to maintain bone density, fat distribution, muscle strength and mass, red blood cell production, sex drive and sperm production. As men age, levels of testosterone naturally decline by about 1% per year after age 30. Extremely low levels of testosterone may be caused by a disease (hypogonadism) in which the body isn’t able to produce enough of the hormone because of a problem with the testicles or the pituitary gland which promotes testosterone production. If you are taking androgen/testosterone replacements you should monitor the levels of testosterone in your blood. This test will help you to track the effectiveness of the treatment. Testosterone is important for muscle and bone growth and strength and for sexual functioning. Too much can cause serious health issues such as increased risk of prostate cancer, increased risk of blood clots or stroke, acne and sleep apnea.
